Systems Administrator

TOTLCOM. is currently seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join the team. We are the leading MSP Firm in Santa Cruz. We work with commercial businesses, government agencies and school districts throughout the Greater Central Coast, Silicon Valley and Bay Area.

We are seeking a well-organized person with excellent communication skills, both written and oral. We would like to hire someone with all of the following technical expertise, but don't hold back if you don't have all of the skills – there are plenty of learning opportunities.

Job Title: Level 2 – Systems Administrator

Reports To: COO & Service Manager

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage vendors and escalating issues as required
  • Setting up and configuring Firewalls
  • Ability to manage and configure print servers
  • Know-how for installing servers and workstations in addition to maintaining systems
  • Experience with AD & Group Policy management
  • Experience in patch rollbacks
  • Basic MDT knowledge
  • External Domain Management
  • Basic understanding of DNS
  • Experience with physical equipment & cable management
  • Experience in MSP software, configuring and monitoring through central management software
  • Practical experience with reading all backup logs
  • Know-how with remediation for backup errors
  • Ability to administer backup schedules/policies
  • Expertise with OS and software updates
  • Configuring anti-virus systems, diagnosing error logs
  • On-boarding and Off-boarding users
  • Software Asset management
  • Documenting procedures/guides
  • Ability to answer phones professionally
  • Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of clients

Educational Requirements:

  • BS, or higher in Management Information Systems or similar

Skill Requirements:

  • Networking (printers, routers, switches, WAPs, etc.)
  • Software Applications (Veeam, Accounting, CRM tools, Office Suite, Adobe, etc.)
  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Mac, VMware)
  • Clear documentation of client information, details regarding client issues, and time tracking processes
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Successful passing of back ground check and live scan
  • Clean driving record and proof of insurance
  • Access to vehicle
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
