Senior Systems Engineer

TOTLCOM. is a full-service support IT Company based in the Old Sash Mill in Santa Cruz currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer. We work with commercial businesses, government agencies, and school districts throughout the Central and Silicon Valleys.

We are seeking a well-organized person with excellent communication skills, both written and oral. We would like to hire someone with all of the following technical expertise, but don't hold back if you don't have all of the skills – there are plenty of learning opportunities.

Job Title: Level 3 – Senior Systems Engineer

Reports To: COO & Service Manager

Position Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of several network IT projects, which involve design, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Network Configuration and Implementation (layer 2, layer 3)
• Wireless configuration, design, and deployment
• Firewall and Network Security (familiarity with Cisco ASA, Sonicwall, etc.)
• Enterprise Class Network Administration and Performance Management
• Change Process Management
• Experience with VMware, vSphere Virtualization Administration and Management
• Experience with SAN Administration
• Active Directory Administration and Maintenance (AD 2003, 2008, 2012)
• Server Administration / Windows / Linux
• Backup and recovery systems
• Imaging technologies, disaster recovery
• Project Management skills, and ability to work on a team
• Experience in MSP software, configuring, and monitoring through central management software
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
• Professional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of clients

Educational Requirements:

• BS or higher in Management Information Systems or similar
• 5+ years in Information Technology

Skill Requirements:

• Networking (Cisco, Aruba, multilayer switching, routing, firewall, VPN, WLAN)
• Applications (network monitoring, backup solutions, network tools)
• Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, iOS, etc.)
• Virtualization technologies (VMware, Xen, Hyper-V)
• Strong customer service skills
• Successful passing of back ground check and live scan
• Clean driving record and proof of insurance
• Access to vehicle
• Able to life 50 pounds
